Anna Lane in the News - October 22, 2011

We are excited about our public launch this weekend. The sooner people realize that this is an opportunity not to be missed and start buying units, the sooner we can start construction. And we can't wait to start construction!!!

The start of construction at a big hole in Kingston's downtown is still six months away.
The vacant lot at the corner of Bagot and Queen streets is the future site of a new nine-storey condominium building but a year after the project was announced the big hole remains.

The not-for-profit Option for Homes announced plans last October to build the 120-unit building, to be known as Anna Lane, estimated to cost more than $25 million to build.

About one-third of the one- and two-bedroom and bachelor apartments have been reserved and a company spokesman said he expects those reservations to translate into sales in the coming weeks.

"We have to reach a threshold to start construction," said David Kay, director of planning and development for Eastern Ontario for Option for Homes.

"The timeline we're looking at (for groundbreaking) is spring or summer 2012."
